Make your own "Spider away spray" - Peppermint Spider Deterrent Treatment

Keeping The Spiders Away
As autumn sets in, spiders become more visible around homes as mating season begins and they look for partners or shelter from the chillier temperatures. Unfortunately, many people fear spiders and would rather not see them inside, particularly because some eight-legged creatures can be poisonous; thankfully there are natural methods available that can repel these eight-legged creatures without killing them off completely.
One way to deter spiders is by eliminating their food source - this means keeping your home tidy and getting rid of unwanted items like old shoes and boxes that clutter the floor space. Spiders tend to gather around such areas, often building webs there. You can further minimize spider entry with fly screens on windows.
Keep your house clean and organized to deter spiders. This includes regular dusting, clearing away clutter, and taking steps such as clearing piles of boxes or papers from around your home. Spiders are attracted to untidy environments where food remains out or insects have come inside; when this happens they quickly begin creating cobwebs where food sources exist or insects enter your home.
Maintaining a clutter-free home will deter pests that attract spiders such as flies, moths and mosquitoes - including spiders themselves! Doing this will also decrease the number of arachnids within it as well as help prevent future invasions from entering it in the first place.
Kitchen Ingredients
White vinegar has several uses around the home and has even been proven to repel spiders. Combine it with water in a spray bottle and apply to areas where spiders have been seen most frequently.
Garlic is an ingredient found in many dishes and is thought to have strong spider-repelling capabilities. Combine whole or crushed garlic with water in a bowl and spray around the exterior of your home where there have been spider sightings.
Cloves are another natural repellent that can help to keep spiders at bay. Their pungent spices may irritate spider senses, while some varieties contain capsaicin which triggers pain receptors in humans. Spread cloves throughout corners, cracks and any hidden areas where you have noticed spiders hiding out.
Another effective solution involves scattering cinnamon around your home to deter insects by disrupting their scent trails and making cobwebs less desirable by breaking down organic material. Another way is placing several sticks of the spice where spiders cannot reach it - such as cabinets or under furniture.
Peppermint Oil
Peppermint oil is an all-natural way to deter spiders from entering your home. It works because its strong scent repels spiders. Simply spraying around the perimeters will not only prevent spiders but also other pests such as mice, fleas, flies and cockroaches from entering.
Peppermint oil alone will not eliminate your spider problem, however. If the infestation is particularly severe, other solutions like traps or baits may be more efficient; however, peppermint oil can still help combat any existing issues with spiders.
Before spraying peppermint oil directly on your skin, it's advised that it be diluted first with a suitable carrier oil like olive or sunflower. Only use small amounts at one time and leave windows open during application for optimal ventilation when spraying. In order to protect the wellbeing of both yourself and pets alike, alternative repellents such as cinnamon oil could also help.
If you want to use peppermint oil as a natural spider repellent, cotton balls soaked in the solution should be placed around your home or added to a spray bottle and used for applying it on corners and other parts of the home 1-2 times each week.
Peppermint may be unpleasant for spiders, but its scent is harmless to people and animals alike. Peppermint can be used to repel household spiders naturally while providing an alternative to chemical-based solutions; plus it's easily available at most convenience stores or herbal remedy shops!
