Fluorite - Properties, benefits, uses, meanings, associations, applications
Fluorite is a cubic or octahedral calcium fluoride that occurs in hydrothermal veins. It is often found nestled amongst quartz, calcite and other minerals. The word "fluorescence"" was taken from the name, as fluorite glows under ultra violet light. Although found across the globe, in countries such as Germany, China, Argentina, America, Australia, Norway, Brazil, Mexico, and Peru, one of the most revered forms is found in England in Derbyshire. It goes by the name of Blue John and is known for it's distinct banding. Often displaying multiple colours in one piece, as seen in Watermelon and Rainbow Fluorite, individual coloured specimens also frequent collections, with different colours having different benefits and associations.
Blue Fluorite is often associated with the throat chakra and communication. It is used as a healing tool for the ears, nose and throat and is believed to support spiritual accuracy. Purple Fluorite is associated with the third eye, with purification and connection, and healing of bone marrow conditions. Green Fluorite is associated with the heart chakra, reconciling head and heart and healing emotional trauma. Yellow Fluorite is detoxifying, supporting the liver and cholesterol levels, magnifying the intellect, and energising ideas, helping to move us into taking action. Black Fluorite removes negative thought patterns, absorbs negative energy, and is used in astral cleansing and helping to prevent nightmares. Different combinations of these variants within a specimen can therefore make different pieces more useful for different circumstances, yet let us not forget that all Fluorites all carry some of the same properties too in addition to these variations:
All Fluorite colours bring order and structure, making them useful in dealing with conflict, confusion, or fast decision making. They are balancing, aiding focus and concentration and calming worries and anxieties. Over all, it is considered a fabulous tool for mental health as it can help bring harmony, stability and cohesion, whilst bringing structure and "bigger picture thinking" to our plans. Fluorite can helps us focus and concentrate, activating memory and learning abilities and enabling us to logically sort through conflicting ideas. It releases supressed emotions, enabling a complete healing and cleansing of the auric field, yet is also a well utilised tool for balance, coordination and dexterity, amongst other things.
