Aquamarine - Healing Crystal uses, benefits, properties and applications
Share
Aquamarine is a beryl that makes for a fabulous spring healing crystal as it has multiple cleansing attributes and is also said in folklore to be helpful when used for hay fever. It has an affinity for the sensitive, including children who struggle to communicate their emotions or needs in a productive or confident way. It seems to frequently attract them to it too.
This calming and cooling stone has a refreshing effect physically, emotionally and spiritually. It's strong cleansing force can be an ally during times of transition and change, as it helps us let go of the past and release old patterns, whilst giving youthful courage and a sense of fearlessness.
Aquamarine is used in therapies for allergies and hay fever as well as other symptoms suggestive of an over active immune system. It's a favourite for healers when working with disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, hives and rosacea. It is often turned to for inflammation too, due to the belief in it's cooling and calming nature.
It's name comes from the Latin for "Water of the sea" and earliest recorded uses were in Greece between 300-500 BC where ancient lore considered it as being a treasure of the mermaids. A firm favourite therefore of sailors, who carried it as a talisman, believing that it would stop them drowning, as well as for general protection and good luck too.
By bringing us to a place of calm conscious awareness, we are able to become aware of our feelings and to communicate them with clarity and gentle compassion. It gives courage to express them and is thought to enhance intuition. It helps move emotional numbness out of the way, whilst at the same time, helping us let go of old patterns, habits, and people from our lives. It is thought to aid our ability to identify where we may be acting out of ego, victim mentality, or manipulative behaviours, whilst cooling any frustration, anger or fear that facing this has the potential to bring. Refreshing stagnant energy, supporting change, it really is a good one for the healer's spring kit.
